HUNGARIAN ROYAL MILITARY CAMP NURSE SHOES (~1900 to 1945)
In the Austro-Hungarian Empire (k.u.k) Army and later in the Hungarian Royal Army there was no specialty footwear designed for the female staff fulfilling mainly medical duties. The "Hungarian Royal Military Camp Nurse Shoe" is based on contemporary photos, specifications, and professional books. Material: brown, vegetable tanned leather (meat side and without lining), or black box leather with goat leather lining, leather sole, natural with other leather parts. The show is constructed with wood nails and stacked heel.

The materials used for the authentically reconstructed shoe: the show upper is 2,5-3 mm thick brown vegetable tanned leather (meat side and without lining) or 1,3 to 1,5 mm thick black box leather with goat leather lining. Other parts toe cap and crust 2-2,5 mm thick vegetable tanned flanks, and the sole and heel of 5,5 mm thick vegetable tanned leather sole.

These boots are made and shipped without the necessary surface treatment. For best results they have to be tanned and greased before use.
With this treatment and the rubber heel and sole these boots are ready for everyday use.
